Dreamscapes of Belize - Buying a lot you haven't seen

I want to hear from anyone who has purchased a lot in Dreamscapes of Belize. Belize is a favoritte of mine for numerous reasons but who buys land you haven'e seen? I understand the development is not built yet and they are aquiring capital for this but what the heck! Can anyone ease my fears?

  1. I bought 3 lots 18 months ago. I hope it exists. It sure looks great on the internet. I feel good about it or I would have never bought. I guess only time will tell.

  2. We too purchased property in Dreamscapes of Belize. My wife, her 2 sisters and our daughter are going to belize the end of Feb. to have a look at the property. Hopefully there will be some development done by that time. We are not expecting too much just yet but they will at least get a feel for the area and what it will become. We will post photos and commentary upon their return. Marsh & Judy

  3. We purchased 3 lots in the development. We just returned from Belize, and did view the area. We arranged with Cliff (President of Dreamscapes) to have someone escort us to the area, which I would recommend, as the roads in are tough at times, and there are no visual markers set up to indicate the property boundaries. They offer this service for a tour in their brochures. We did see some survey stakes, but no lot stakes, as we could only view from the road. We also tried to view the newly announced Marina Area. We did see some survey stakes there as well, but could not walk to the river because of the brush. I did step in to the Land Titles office in Belmopan, and viewed the land survey. The land is registered as "Dreamscapes of Belize" surveyed by E.H.Arzu, dated July 2, 2008. The new proposed lot placement development is not yet registered, so individual lot titles are not yet registered. I spoke with Cliff (Dreamscapes), and he thought titles would be available in the next 3 months or so. I am looking forward to when they start to break ground.

  4. Well, I promised to report back on my wifes recent trip to belize. They took the bus from Cancun to Chetumal, another bus to Belize City and a taxi to Hopkins, as the car rental agencies were closed in Belize city when they finally got there. This is not recommended unless you have lots of time and want to live the adventure! The taxi ride was from Hell.
They didn't have a guide and couldn't find the development but went to Mullens River town which is very close. They did however take in everything they could and loved every minute of the time. My wife and her sister who also has alot purchased, would cheerfully have stayed and never returned. The pictures they took are beautiful to breath-taking, and the people are so nice. This area will in time be a wonderful place to live for those of us that don't need all of the conveniences of urban living. We, like everyone are impatiently waiting to see some action and pictures of the development. It would be nice if the developer had a contact person in the area that could escort us gringos to our land. I am going next year to hopefully get something started with the building of our home.

  5. I have also purchased a lot in Ocean Reef, have toured the site and look forward to developing our vacation / retirement home. Realistically, having some experience with Belize contruction time lines.....we will not be starting until well into 2010. We can wait.......have a couple years before we qualify for the Belize retirement and resident programs.

  7. I have purchase 2 lots and plan on traveling to Belize the beginning of next year. If anyone would be interested in meeting in Belize Jan/Feb of 2010 - or any other time, please let me know. If we all work together, we should be able to help each other out.

  8. I'm also considering purchasing here. From what I can tell, I'm a bit hesitant... Talking with other developments, it sounds like this has been going on for up to 4 years... Any comments would be helpful in a decision. I think if everything goes as planned "online", it will be amazing.

  9. Titles to the lots are to be issued in 2010. Ocean Reef's are going out first. The developer has acquired another couple hundred acres of land and is planning a full 18 hole golf course which will only be the 2nd full course in the entire country of Belize. Time will tell...

  10. Hello Tim ... I would be interested in hearing about your trip to Belize Jan/Feb of 2010, and I like your idea of all working together. I have recently purchased in Toucan. I am looking for more current info. Would love to hear all the new news that is out there. This must have been quite a rainy season as I'm told by Dreamscapes. Hopefully they can get on with issuing the deeds.

  11. I am considering Dreamscapes, but like several of you, am very hesitant to buy unseen. Also upon asking about the planned amenities, I was told that the owner is in "the black" and will take care of all that is planned. I for one am not comfortable with verbal agreements and would like to hear about anyone who has actually built there, and has actually seen THEIR LOT, instead of some survey stakes? I would appreciate any info, jbscabin@blackfoot.net, 406-859-7200. Thanks, JB

  12. Hi, I want everybody to know who has bought property or plans on buying property with Dreamscapes, that this land will never be developed. I have insider information and on good authority that the owner Cliff Goodrich does not have the funds or financial backing to fully develop this property or for that matter develop past what has previously been done, Which is next to nothing. 3 years and what do we have? Most of the roads that were put in have been washed away from a "rainy season", which is typical in south Belize. I have seen the property and it has Zero workers on the premises. Think I'm kidding? Look on Google Earth. There is nothing there. Make up your own mind. There is no progress from 3 years ago. They are a complete scam and continue to lie to make sales and use "forclosure lots" and "Coming back on the market" to push you into thinking they have other buyers. They don't. Run the other way. I do not work for any other "competition company" I want to make that clear. I simply know whats going on right now. My information is 100% factual, if you look and think hard enough you will see everything I said here is the unfortunate and terrible truth. I implore those who have already bought to call in and ask more questions. Ask how they plan on getting power to the property? The next nearest town is 11 miles away. Do you know how much it will cost to run power lines 11 miles to this property? However, there is not much you can do. A refund has never and will never be given. Cliff Goodrich pockets the money from each property sold, lives on it and does not put it back into developing the property. If you still choose to buy do so at your own risk. But be aware, be very aware. If any one needs further explanation please email me, I will be happy to share all the info I have. This is no joke. I'm sorry to be the bearer bad news. I can be reached at mbdbimmer@gmail.com

  13. Oh my God! The comment left by (mbdbimmer) has got to be a disgruntled ex-employee! I say this for several reasons. First of all this individual makes reference to “Google Earth” as proof that nothing has been done in the past three years – For your information, Google Earth is not a LIVE SATELITE or CAM FEED! The area of Dreamscapes on Google Earth still has the same clouds in the same place as it did two years ago. It took Google Earth three years before it showed the pool my wife and I had built in our back yard. Secondly, who ever this person is has never been to this property, this person is lying! How do I know this? Because my wife and I visited our property in February 28, 2010. The roads were NOT washed away! And there was heavy equipment working on the placement of a rather large culvert to allow a beautiful creek to flow under the roads. Photographs of the work I saw being done during my visit are posted even on their web site. Thirdly, this person claims that electric is eleven miles away, this really upset me and my wife! Maybe this person should have looked at the pictures of the entrance to the development on their web site before making such a false claim. Even the aerial photographs shows electric running all along the front of the development and I have seen it for myself! Electricity runs the whole length of the Coastal Highway for that matter. This can be verified by simply calling up the Belize Electric Co. Fourthly, as an owner this person must not have much knowledge of buying lots in any development as there are always many lots where people fail to meet their contractual agreements and they have to be foreclosed on. This is not uncommon today! These lots should be offered to present property owners first! Your claim of being “100% Factual” I find it hard to believe you even know what factual means! To everyone who reads this, I say to you this is why I do not pay to much attention to blogs especially, this person (mbdbimmer) – they can be misused by anyone! As an owner you may contact me anytime, and I’m not hiding behind any hidden names. Please feel free to contact me Mr. Robin Lechnir for any true information about our great retirement investment at Dreamscape. My email address is usadco@comcast.net.

  14. This is a neat place to interact. My husband and I made a down payment on 2 lots. I hope this is moving ahead as planned. Looks like it will be great place to live. It will be mine and my husband's retirement home. We like the Mako model. I love the Ocean Reef area, but, my husband made his deal on Eagle Trace lots. We will hopefully be going there very soon to check it out first hand. Ya'll sound like a great group of people to be neighbors with. I will post when I know more and check back often to say "hey"! 15. To all that have or are interested in buying property from Dreamscapes of Belize I am an independent contractor from the USA and have been contracted three times buy Dreamscapes to go to Belize to check on the work being done and make recommendations. I have spent a total of 1 ½ months in Belize and on the property and have seen and walked the proposed Marina. First I would like to say that the main development of Dreamscapes is fully approved and titles are going out. Belize is a country that is moving from the days of slash and burn to an environmentally correct approach to development, this in itself slows the process of getting things approved. As well the number of Developments that is being submitted is on the rise and the government has their plate full. Over ¾ (8-9 miles) of the roads are pushed in and most are shaped, culverts will be placed in compliance with the master drainage plan and then rock will be placed. This work is being done buy a company that is also involved in building the country’s largest airport which will be in Placencia in southern Belize. Electricity is at the entrance of the main development as well at the entrance of the proposed marina. Dreamscape is also in negotiation with several companies to provide water through a Reverse Osmosis system using water from the Mullins River.

On a personnel note I found Belize to be a beautiful country. Having spent so much time on the property I can say that it too is a beautiful piece of property ranging from piney savannah with the Mayan mountains to the west, tropical jungle and the Caribbean ocean to the east. I came across Jaguar prints, heard Howler Monkeys, Toucans and the surveyor said they have seen deer. I had an opportunity to go fishing with one of the young men from the local village. We went out in his hand carved dug out and had a great time. Caught snapper and silk drum and saw and heard lots of see turtles. My wife and I are looking at lots in the proposed Marina or in Eagle Trace. I also am working with the Praying Pelican Ministries to get the local church fixed, it’s located between the main development and the proposed Marina. I would like to address on other issue that has been brought up in conversation with others about Belize that is crime. I did some search on crime in Belize and compared the per capita figures with Florida and what I found is that you are 7 times more likely to be a victim of crime in Florida than in Belize. If anyone has any question or would like to contact me feel free to do so at builderbz@yahoo.com

  16. We bought there years ago and my partner went there this year. They are working on it, though behind schedule. Roads were not washed away. He also meet with the developer. So far so good. As far as I know some titles have been issued but for some, like myself, ours will take longer since we bought less exspensive lots at the time. We are in the last of the four phases. My only worries are what it will cost to build. They may have us by the balls.

  17. I am a native Belizean and have had the privilege of doing some work for Dreamscapes of Belize. I travel to the property frequently and am quite familiar with the company and the Project.

While I could understand why some people might be apprehensive about buying property in a foreign country, once you come to Belize and experience the laid back and slow paced atmosphere of the country, I bet some of your concerns would be quelled. Everyone, locals and foreigners, who has dealt with the Ministry of Natural Resources (Lands) will tell you that it takes a lot of patience to deal with the snail-like workings of the department. Even though it took some time, the development has been approved by the Department of the Environment, and buyers have been getting their titles. I know this because I have been working with Dreamscapes for over a year, assisting them with development approval and title recordation. Rest assured that the various departments in Belize would not have approved this development if it did not have viable plans in place with regards to access to utilities, waste management, disaster management etc. In fact, the entire Impact Assessment Plan is available to the public at http://www.doe.gov.bz/documents/EIA/Dreamscapes/MRS%20EIA%2000-CovrCntnts.pdf. True, the development is located away from major towns and cities, but that is all part of the rural appeal of community – being away from city life. Many other planned communities in rural Belize have been developed in similar manner, and Dreamscapes’ lots are very competitive in comparison to lots in similar communities. Though things have been moving along slowly, this is quite usual for these types of developments in Belize. The point is that things are moving along quite nicely. Those of you who are interested in purchasing property and have concerns, come to Belize for yourself and check out the development.

  19. Just wanted to touch base with the followers of this blog and any who visit. I just returned from Belize on behalf of Dreamscapes to look at the success of the first stage of our master drainage plan, that we finished last year just before the rainy season and access the damage done by hurricane Richard that hit the area. The damage done by Richard was minimal and the roads and drainage faired better than we thought. We had a crew of men clearing the roads and a grader dress the roads to ready them for graveling. We identified the areas in need of a culvert and are working with a local contractor to get those in prior to graveling the roads. I will keep everyone posted on the progress as Dreamscapes takes advantage of the dry season.

A side note while walking the property at the end of Wahoo Ct. came across several large Jaguar prints was great and met with one of the men from the village who is looking to take visitors out in his boat to any of the little island just a short boat ride away. So if you are considering going down contact me and I can set that up for you.

  20. My husband and I will visit Dreamscapes 3/16/11. He has never seen it. I purchased 1 lot last year after touring the development. Will report comparison after return. I just hope that we can build within next couple of yrs, as my husband is retiring this Dec.

We have rec'd our title due to cooperation of Dreamscapes staff and Kingsley, a very pleasant young man that works for Dreamscapes.

Looking forward to a great visit to Belize. The lifestyle there takes me back 40 years and the rural part of the country is very beautiful!

I welcome anyone who bought or is interested in buying in Dreamscapes to contact me. I'd love to connect with my future neighbors!

I WILL NOT APPROVE A FRIEND REQUEST WITHOUT THIS INFORMATION...I'm trying to keep this exclusively for property owners!!! I just typed a huge comment, tried to post it and it got deleted...grrr!!! So I'm just going to stick with this for now...

  23. I'll try a quick synopsis of my comment that was deleted! 2 major disheartening factors, for me, were when Dreamscapes deleted their facebook page & when I went to the property last month (4-11) and the entrance sign was gone (apparently blown down over a year ago and never replaced)! I do believe that Dreamscapes is legit as I have walked on my property, BUT I have been waiting nearly 2 years for my title (I'm in Ocean Reef) & when I was there last month, it didn't really look like anything had been done since the initial land clearing & roads! Dreamscapes is at least 2 years behind their original timeline (@ least the timeline that I was told)! I was planning on moving down there this year...they're not even close! I'm in touch with several other property owners & I've been told that they are supposed to gain major headway this year...I'm going back down in August, so I'll know then whether or not anything else has been done! If you want to know what's going on...check the FB page...I will leave it open for anyone to view, but please don't send me a friend request if you aren't already a property owner!!! I still haven't uploaded my pics from the property, but I will soon...as will others hopefully!!! My hope in posting to this blog is to unite as many property owners as possible and hopefully push them along!!! If you're looking to retire in the next couple of years, so far, I can't recommend Dreamscapes...like I said, they're already at least 2 years behind!!! In 3 weeks there & several visits to the property, there was never any sign of life on the development & no sign of any equipment! Sorry if this news is disheartening to others...my goal is not to shun people from Dreamscapes, just to share with everyone my personal experience with them! If this is just an investment property & you have a few years to wait on the ROI, by all means, choose Dreamscapes!!! All that being said...whether you choose Dreamscapes or elsewhere...keep it in Belize! It truly is HEAVEN ON EARTH!!! If you choose or have already chosen Dreamscapes...I look forward to meeting all my future neighbors!!! :0)

  24. To all who have read the previous ”mbimmer” comment! I want to state unequivocally that the “mbimmer” statement made earlier in this blog is a complete falsehood. I don’t want to go into any major detail, but suffice it to say that as an ex employee those comments were prompted by what was perceived to be a necessary ax to grind. To that end, apologies are most certainly in order. The” Mbimmer” email address has been removed for obvious reasons. I wish Dreamscapes of Belize well and hope the damage caused by those outrageous comments was minimal.

  25. Hello to all that follow this blog

I am the construction manager for Dreamscapes of Belize. I have spoken with several and met a lot owner on the property. I just want everyone to know that I will be returning to Belize June 30th to July 27th and then will be returning several more times before the years end. What I will be accomplishing in this month:
    1) Training men from the village to pour concrete as in box culverts that will be placed in Ocean Reef initially.

    2) Negotiate a contract for the gravel and the spreading of the gavel.

    3) Talk with Belize Electric about bringing electricity into the development.

    4) Working with a customs broker in importing a truck to Belize from the states.

    5) Meeting with surveyors.

On a personal note I will also be contacting Belize Development Committee to see if we can get any incentives to help the villagers in starting businesses that will be need to support a development of this size.

Finally Mark please contact me at builder@yahoo.com the sign is up and was only down for several months. As far as titles the government is making changes to accommodate the over whelming increase in number of surveys and titles that need processed. Work being done go to the Dreamscapes web page roads are pushed in on Toucan Place and we have men on the property regularly to try and keep the jungle from reclaiming our efforts. Please send me a link to your face book page when I try to connect it re-directs me here. And anyone who has purchased lots please contact me at the above e-mail address so we can direst our efforts on the infrastructure towards your needs. I am aware of only 4 lot owners who are ready to build. So again contact me if anyone has questions or to let me know your lot numbers and when you would like to build. I haven’t forgotten about building cost and will work on that while in Belize

  26. To all that follows this blog
I am the Construction Supervisor for Dreamscapes of Belize. I have returned after a month on the property. We accomplished:
    1) Getting a truck into the country, it took a little longer than expected but only by a few
    days.
    2) We hired 8 men from the village to train for the construction of concrete box culverts,
ending up with only 5 that had the aptitude for the work. The others were hard workers
and were utilized in clearing of the round abouts and roads.
    3) We have negotiated a contract with the quarry for the delivery and spreading of gravel,
and will start upon my return.
    4) I did not meet with Belize Electric, they just announced the week I arrived that they
were going to be in the transition from a privately owned utility to Government owned
    utility.
    Upon my return:
    1) We will start the graveling of roads.
    2) Finish the box culverts in Ocean Reef.
    3) Place French drains and concrete sand traps to drain Dreamscapes Blvd. between Mayan Circle and Greenway St..
    4) Start with box culverts a long Dreamscapes Blvd.
Until my return we will be looking at purchasing equipment to help maintain the roads, tractor with loader, brush hog and blade and a track hoe.
Also my e-mail address typed in correctly in the previous entry it is Builderbz@yahoo.com, feel free to contact me with any questions or to schedule a visit while I'm on site.

  27. Hello Scott & Kingsley, aka builderbz
I too have purchased a lot in Dreamscapes, Ocean Reef. It's been over 1 year and I still have NO DEED to my parcel! Trudy at Dreamscapes offices has been giving me - what I feel is - "The Runaround". I have tried numerous times to get my deed to my parcel with ZERO luck. I am EXTREMELY frustrated on how they do not communicate any information to me whatsoever. Not sure if you can push it on your end, but any help is greatly appreciated!

  28. Property Owner in Dreamscapes of Belize
I bought property in Dreamscapes of Belize and I am very excited! I have been to Belize on numerous trips and I love the country. I have been very happy with my purchase and I have read that some people are creating problems with this project by posting bad comments and unfactual information. Some of those people include a disgruntled employee that was fired for stealing leads for competitors who are building a project in Belize, a development that is also building Belize who is trying to undermine the project by posting bad info and some people who are complaining because they believe what they read without verifying the info. I heard that there are two companies in fact that were doing this 1) Sittee Place ( which has went out of business because they are a scam) and Sanctuary Bay. I am starting this blog so that property owners in Dreamscapes of Belize can set the record straight and stop others who would like to create trouble for Dreamscapes which would in turn not ONLY hurt the company who is building OUR investments but... this hurts US as owners in this developement. I have spoken and have been in touch on a regular basis with Dreamscapes and I have had NO problems with communication. They are always very happy to assist me with anything I need. I not ONLY have received a deed to my property but, I just received the valuation for it, as well. My property shows that it has substantially increased in value since I purchased it. I have made $$$$ and so have the other owners. There is another great blog that I follow that if you are interested in getting THE FACTS you might want to follow too. It is http://www.belizedreamscape.blogspot.com/ this blog is a positive and factual forum for what is happening now. Dreamscapes of Belize is in the process of putting together their portfolio for the banks/lenders to get the financing ball in motion for home loans. Due to the fact, that the valuations are being done and they have shown a substantial increase in the value since they were purchased this should help with negotiating some favorable interest rates and programs for us. ( Part One)

    ReplyDelete
  29. ( Part Two ) Dreamscapes is going to be the largest development in Belize and with all the amenities they are offering ( a golf course, marina, tennis courts, clubhouses, etc.) this is no small affair. The company has had to adhere to the Belizean building process and regulations which are unique to that country and also on their " time clock". The surveying, permitting, inspections, valuations and god only knows what else that goes into the construction process that must be done before going forward. I am completely aware that Belize is a slow paced country and still has alot of growing to do so I expect that it will take the time necessary to move things along. This is not a project for someone who wants to move to Belize right away. But this is a project that offers those who are willing to wait a place to live in Belize that offers all the amenities of a country club lifestyle in paradise. This development captured my heart because I want to have at my disposal all the comforts of a developed country and yet, it lets me experience that in a tropical paradise without having to sacrifice or trade-off. Dreamscapes of Belize has had some delays which are out of their control such as weather and etc. Belize does have a rainy season and is susceptible to hurricanes. So add everything together and it is not uncommon for a project this BIG to face some obstacles. That is common in construction if you have had any experience in building a home. Most projects are built in phases and not " one home there and one home here"..... With a developement so large this would not make sense. We would have people living in the jungle so remotely removed from others. Building in phases keeps the construction costs down and allows the project to come together as a community of people. That's one of the reasons I chose Dreamscapes of Belize is because I want to be around others who share the same interests as me. My advice to others who own property in Dreamscapes whi have questions ... PLEASE do not listen to the lies and unfactual information on the internet because it is just not the truth because soemone can post it up there. If you want answers please call Dreamscapes of Belize and you will find out that what I am saying IN FACT is the truth. I don't expect you to believe me ... CALL! I just want to be sure that these " BAD blogs" do not hurt my investment by their unfactual soothsaying. So as an owner I am doing my part to protect my investment and my future.

  30. Monday, November 7, 2011UPDATE
Dreamscapes of Belize has received the property valuations they need to move forward in the construction / Infrastructure of Phase One of the development. I talked to the developer and he said that the valuations were in and they came in higher than even expected. Everyone has already made $$ on their properties who have had their valuations completed. Also, they are putting together the portfolio to submit to the banks/lenders for negotiating the best construction loans for the property owners. They have been meeting with alot of different commitees in Belize about the project. I asked him about the delays that I have read in a blog and he said that there were some construction delays... no doubt due to weather and permitting approvals, which do not move fast in Belize. But actually the delays are a blessing in disguise because he has been meeting with a Construction Consulting Committee and they told him that the best way to handle a project of this magnitude ( Dreamscapes of Belize is the largest development in Belize) that you need to start and complete construction in phases. A few reasons they say that this is advantagaeous for 1) It keeps construction prices lower which helps him as well as the owners. No one wants to see price increases in the construction pricing.
Having the construction crew come in to build a random homes within the project at random times is not as cost effectiv as having them come into to build specific phasees of the community. This also creates a " community" instead of having people spread out all over the place making them feel socially alienated, it will create a social environment.
    2) They advised Dreamscapes to build the development in phases that allows for the best overall advantages for the property owners and for Dreamscapes of Belize. Usually most developemnts that are this large sell 1/3 of their property before they even start construction on their first phase.
I hope that everyone who has bought in Dreamscapes of Belize or is thinking about it understands that although we all want to " get it done" I think we have to patient when it comes to construction especially in another country.

  32. Hello I bought property in Dreamscapes of Belize in the Ocean Reef phase. I wish I was in Belize right now. It is quite chilly here in England at the moment. I have not incurred any problems with the purchase of my property and I have the deed, as well. I am looking into information about living in Belize, any suggestions would be appreciated. I did alot of research before I bought my property and I am very happy with my choice. Dreamscapes is totally legitimate and has all the credentials with the Belizean government. I am not concerned about delays.. you should try building something in England! It is always raining here.

  33. Hello I bought land in Dreamscapes and I spoke with someone sometime ago and they told me that they are completing their valuations on the properties in Dreamscapes. They are putting together all the information necessary for the banks in Belize to set up construction loans for the owners. I am not sure what model we are going to build. We are leaning toward the Hummingbird model. I have received the deed to my property. I am not worried about the delays. We knew when we bought in the project that it was in the very preliminary stages and we understood that. We are not ready to move to Belize for awhile and we are just happy that are property value is going up. We were going to buy in Costa Rica about 2 years ago, since then property values have reached their peak. Belize is the place to be right now as far as buying anywhere in the Carribean. I have been watching the values of property increase there. Honestly I think Dreamscapes is selling property on the low side. I am sure once they start the construction phase that will change very quickly. Then my property will go up even more in value. We are excited about moving to Belize and look forward to spending many most of our time there.

Pursuant to Florida Statutes Title XLV, Section 770.01, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of our intent to file lawsuits in the Circuit Court of Palm Beach County, Florida, against certain persons who have posted and/or continue to post false and/or defamatory blogs which are injuring the good name of Dreamscapes of Belize. This NOTICE is also given to all Blog owners who are aware of the defamation (and refuse to allow Dreamscapes’ reply) of our intention to file suit. This summer, a Florida Court ruled in a defamation case that bloggers may be sued by an injured Florida business in Florida even though the blogger does not reside and has not transacted business in Florida because blogs are designed to reach worldwide.

A recent Florida case has awarded $11.3 million to a person who was accused by a blogger of being associated with a fraud. By way of example only, words such as a “scam” or ‘misleading” and similar type words as well as falsehoods such as “just vacant land” and “getting nothing for their money” are tantamount to fraud and injure the reputation of Dreamscapes. We intend to seek damages in excess of this amount.

In connection with our lawsuits, we intend to utilize the subpoena power of the Florida Courts to ascertain the identities of anonymous bloggers in order to proceed against them.

The purpose of this NOTICE is to provide the time required by law for violators (bloggers) to retract their statements (i.e., remove the offensive posts/blogs) prior to the institution of lawsuits. If you are one of the bloggers to which this NOTICE is provided, DEMAND IS HEREBY MADE for immediate and complete retraction. If you need assistance or have any questions, contact my office immediately. If your blog was anonymous, we will not disclose your identity provided the offense content is timely retracted.

    PLEASE GOVERN YOURSELVES ACCORDINGLY.

    Sincerely,

    Thomas H. Dougherty, Esq.
    THOMAS H. DOUGHERTY, P.A.

  36. WOW!!! Finally it's about time someone address these comments. I own property in dreamscapes and I have been very concerned about all this negativity creating " bad press" and having a negative effect on the progress of this project. I even started my own "blog" www.belizedreamscapes.blogspot.com to help provide factual informative information about Dreamscapes, as well as Belize.

  37. I am a property owner in Dreamscapes. At least, I have a bill of sale. Never have gotten a deed. I think one of the things that would really help the owners understand what is going on in Dreamscapes would be for the company to update the website frequently, with new pics. The last pics were taken in March, 2011, almost a year ago.
Also, some kind of communication between the owners and the company would be nice.

  38. Does anyone have a guesstimate of when the first homes will be built at Dreamscapes. I assume that they will be building some of the common buildings first as a showcase for prospective buyers. Looking forward to visiting soon. Does anyone have a listing of current owner emails so that we can organize???

  42. Just got back from "the development" a few days ago...there IS a new sign...other than that, I didn't notice anything different from 2012, 2011 or 2010! I've been going once or twice a year for the past 4 years...hoping to see workers & equipment, but I'm always disappointed...I've never seen another soul there! I bought in Ocean Reef nearly 4 years ago & still haven't received a deed...only excuses!!! I have no idea of the financial status of the Dreamscapes project, but the buzz around Griga is that the developer ran out of money & the project is dead...AGAIN, I CANNOT CONFIRM THIS OR ATTEST TO THE ACCURACY (I am just sharing information that was passed on to me by locals)! One thing I can attest to: Dreamscapes staff members have lied to me on multiple occasions!!! From telling me that my deed was in the mail (2+ years ago...still waiting) to telling me that construction crews were on-site working (I show up...not a soul in sight, nor any equipment)!!!
My retirement plan was to move to Dreamscapes in 2012, as I was assured my land would be cleared & ready to build on by then...I'm currently renting an oceanfront cabana in a local village for roughly $100/mo US & it doesn't look like I'll be moving home to Dreamscapes anytime soon!!!
AS STATED EARLIER, I AM UNAWARE OF THE FINANCIAL STATUS OF THE DREAMSCAPES PROJECT OR THE DEVELOPER & NOTHING IN THIS POST IS MEANT TO HARM OR DEFAME EITHER!!!
Just a thought though...maybe someone should spend more money developing & less money trying to cover up blogs!!! Plain & simple, and neither of these statements are directed towards anyone in particular (just words of wisdom), when a person lies, cheats & steals...people are going to bitch & complain about it!!! All I'm saying is, I have a reason to bitch & complain!!!

  44. Hi All,
New to this forum, I am reading mixed views and reactions to Dreamscapes. Besides CarribeanZombie it seems that nobody has been to Dreamscapes recently. CZ, we too are looking at retiring to Belize, but not sure we want to pitch a tent lol, on the property. We are getting nervous about the timeline for this project.
Anyone care to comment or know more about this "large influx of capitol" to finish the project? From my research the Key Real Estate Group has been mentioned as the partner in the merger. Also, on the Dreamscape web site there is talk of being publicly traded in a few months. I haven’t found out much more. Any information that any of you have would be appreciated.

    1. I PURCHASED LAND IN BELIZE OVER 4 YEARS AGO IN DREAMSCAPES. THEY DID PRESENT SOMETHING POSITIVE ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO THAT THERE WAS ADMINISTRATIVE CHANGES AND CONSTRUCTION WAS GETTING OF THE GROUND. THIS LASTED MOMENTARILY AND NOW I HAVE CALLED THE CORPORATE OFFICE IN FLORIDA ON SEVERAL ATTEMPTS AND GET RECORDED VOICE MAIL TO LEAVE A MESSAGE AND NEVER GETTING MY CALLS RETURNED. I HONESTLY BELIEVE THAT MANY INVESTORS THAT RECEIVED THERE TITLE TO THE LAND LIKE I DID STILL OWN THE LAND OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF NO WHERE WITH NO DEVELOPMENT IN SIGHT. I WILL BE CHECKING WITH THE BELIZE ON MY LAND. BOTTOM LINE I OWN A PIECE OF LAND TO NOWHERE. THE INVESTOR THAT DUMPED THERE HARD EARNED MONEY INTO THIS DEAL WITH NO TITLE BEING RECEIVED HAVE BEEN BURNED ALL TOGETHER. THERE IS SOMETHING VERY WRONG ABOUT THIS WHOLE EXPERIENCE. dsaenz863 @gmail.com

  46. I bought my lot in 2010. I've been to the site and there was clearing done, but I saw no one I could talk to or ask where MY lot was located. I will be retiring in three years so I'm hoping I could at least have my deed in hand and will be able to start building. I will be going back to Belize in August so I will see the progress, if any.

We'd be interested to know what has been done since March 2013 after our visit there. We were told electricity would be brought in within the next couple of months and they would start building our model home. Nobody has returned our emails or phone calls with regards to what is actually happening there.

    2. I was told I could pay off our two lots when the roads were there and title was ready. We put down 10k and for 4 years now, nothing. My husband has since passed, so this dream has gone to the way side. I could sure use my money back, or title to sell the lots, since my income is much more limited. But don't expect it back, since this was one major scam.

    3. SURE DOES SOUND LIKE A SCAM WE DID RECEIVE A TITLE BUT I UNDERSTAND THAT THE LAND IS ABANDONED NO PROGRESS NOBODY ANSWERS YOUR CALLS IN FLORIDA AT THE CORPORATE OFFICE.

  50. Cliff Goodrich is also listed at the developer for Paradise at Deep River in Belize. I bought a lot there in May and have not heard any more about this development. Does anyone have information on this?

  51. From what I can find from the government of Belize they are not even approved to sell lots. I would call the attorney generals office in Florida. He sold over 300 lots in Dreamscapes and now he is up and running with another envelopment.
